ABOUT US
Earth and Reed was formed in 2000 by its two directors, Christopher North and Margery Ward. This was a natural progression from their joint experience and dedication to protecting the environment and the conservation of buildings. The company takes its name from the major ingredients used to manufacture many of the products we sell, for example, the clay, or ‘earth’, that is used in many of the paints that we sell.
We promote the use of environmentally-responsible decorating and building materials throughout East Anglia. We aim to satisfy the need by supplying a wide range of natural paints and pigments, insulations made from natural ingredients, boards without toxic additives, and lime-based products.
We source our materials as locally as possible, preferring British made goods to imported ones, if only to reduce the ‘paint miles’. Where that has not been possible, we have chosen to have products made specifically for Earth and Reed. As a result, we have launched the Suffolk Green Paints range. They are really made in Suffolk. This has given us total control to produce paints that are safe for the environment, cost effective and do a really good job. What’s more, we guarantee, NO GREENWASH!
